Back to Nominees Page

1. What is it about the Board position you would like to hold that most interested you in running for office?

I have been in this role before and it was challenging and amazing at the same time. Helping in growing this league has been amazing to be apart of. Softball Austin had been apart of my life for over 12 years.

2. How will you contribute to the Board as a whole if elected?

If elected again I would like to complete what I tried to start before I came off the board for the women's division. Growing the league, creating a more calm and safe setting, and of course making this about having fun again. I know we have competitive teams and we have beginner teams that want more teams in this league that way everyone plays at their level. My goal would be to double the number of teams we have ever had in the women's division.

3. Please list other volunteer commitments you have at this time.

I work in mental health and right now there are not many places for people to get help without being on a waiting list especially the adolescents. Where I work it's more of an adult setting. Helping with adolescents who are having a hard time with life is my personal volunteer to them. Volunteering with someone from another facility to help with the adolescents has been a great success.

Summarize your experience with Softball Austin.

Entering the league over 12 years ago as a player looking for a fun and safe place to play in to being a part of the first women's team created in the league has been a great experience. Softball Austin pushed me to come out of my shell and be more vocal. I created my own women's team (real quik) that I have had for years now. I did serve on the board three different times and it ending with being women's assistant commissioner. My experience with Softball Austin has been a learning experience.
