1. What is it about the Board position you would like to hold that most interests you in running for office?
I have really enjoyed my term as Operations Coordinator. It is the perfect blend of hard deadline activities with self-directed tasks, and has offered me the ability to balance the volunteer responsibilities with my other work/life demands. I have enjoyed learning more about the workings of the league during this term and would like to continue to develop my experience on the board.
2. How will you contribute to the Board as a whole if elected?
I have built a nice relationship with the City of Austin staff and have been able to work with them on compromises in scheduling dates and fields. I will continue to cultivate these connections for our league. Additionally, I have served on the boards of five local 501c3 non-profit organizations. I have served as the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian and Committee Chair, so I understand the responsibilities for each role on a board. I have also managed fundraising events for both a volunteer and paid staff. My past experience in other roles can be used to help the board consider and develop new ways the organization can operate in order to grow.
3. Please list other volunteer commitments you have at this time.
Employer PRIDE Employee Resource Group (ERG) member
Partnerships for Children Holiday Wishes Committee Member
