Finding Softball Austin
I retired from teaching in Birmingham, AL, and moved to Austin. I had already played for 2 years in Birmingham and joined the Polar Bears D immediately.
Feeling at home
At my first PB practice, 2 people wore Alabama T-shirts, and 1 wore an Auburn T-shirt. I knew I had found my team and my peeps.
Why you keep coming back
I am old AF, but I still love to play. I am VERY competitive. I love the connections that I have made.
A standout moment
I have been to many World Series tournaments, and those are always special.
What people don't always see
I served in Birmingham. It is way more formal than most people would realize. And the job is "involved", so show some appreciation for your board members.
Outside softball
Pickleball and bowling. I love watching college sports (Roll Tide). And look at me...I love to eat. I also love spending time with my boxer Brodie and my partner Jed.
